New documentary book explores Prague’s rave scene 2015-2020

Through images, interviews, and essays, the book follows off-club events of four
local promotional collectives to document the intense era of the city's electronic
dance music subculture.
Featuring hundreds of photographs collected from 21 professional and amateur
photographers, the 300-page book is out now and available for orders on the
project’s website.
“Location TBA’s point of departure was a collection of photographs made by Gabriela
Kontra, the book’s initiator & editor. Together with the graphic designer Michal
Veltruský they approached a number of figures active in the subculture to contribute
their images, and widen the scope of the project.”
Alongside the visual accounts, the book presents interviews with members of four
organisational collectives — namely Polygon, Nite Vibes, Harmony and Cukr — and
also with several night workers and visitors who frequented the events depicted.
Amongst other things the photographs in the book capture dozens of parties held
around Prague in non-traditional spaces and buildings, including the two
groundbreaking Polygon nights thrown at Prague’s Main railway station or the locally
infamous takeover of an abandoned nuclear bunker from the 50s by nite vibes, to
name a few.
Three included essays, contributed by Michal Smetana, Jen Kratochvíl and Jonáš
Verešpej, further contextualise the historical and social importance of the local rave
phenomenon.
