Lucie Hošková maluje na dekompostovaná plátna, plátna pohřbená, zahrabaná, zetlelá a exhumovaná. Obrazy v mnohém připomínají oltářní malby ze
zapomenutých či dobře utajených kostelů. Preferuje vertikály: Myslím seshora dolů, vykřičníky víc upoutávají, říká malířka. Duše musí sestoupit na matérii seshora. V protikladu mezi slastmi a askezí dává přednost tomu druhému. Autorčina kosmologie charakterizuje lidstvo skrze upsání se slastem, jsme závisláci na vůli, a slasti jsou neukojitelné. Smrt je slast. Malířku vede touha proniknout k absolutnu, kdesi hluboko za scénou svítí Černé slunce. Používá téměř dvoutisíciletý pojem „gnóze“. Gnóze je filozofický či náboženský názor oddělující ducha a hmotu, Boha a svět. Cílem je překonat dualismus zánikem hmoty.
Po generacích egomaniaků, jimž „patřil“ svět, přicházejí nové generace umělců už od počátku předpokládající, že svět je bolestný a přináší zklamání.

Lucie Hošková paints on decomposed canvases, canvases buried, buried, decomposed and exhumed. The paintings are in many ways reminiscent of altarpieces from
forgotten or well-hidden churches. He prefers verticals: I think from top to bottom, exclamation marks are more eye-catching, says the painter. The soul must descend on the matter from above. In the contrast between pleasure and asceticism, she prefers the latter. The artist's cosmology characterizes humanity through subscription to pleasure; we are addicts of the will, and pleasures are insatiable. Death is a pleasure. The painter is driven by a desire to penetrate to the absolute, somewhere deep behind the scene the Black Sun shines. He uses the nearly two-thousand-year-old term "gnosis". Gnosis is a philosophical or religious view separating spirit and matter, God and the world. The goal is to overcome dualism through the extinction of matter.
After generations of egomaniacs who "owned" the world, new generations of artists have come to assume from the beginning that the world is painful and brings disappointment.
Lucie Hošková (1999, Prague) is a student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She began her studies in Jiří Petrboek's drawing studio and now continues her studies with Alice Nikitinova. Last year she participated in the exhibition Genesis Breyer P-Orridge at DOX, prepared by Otto M. Urban.
